Bolton Wanderers Football Club are saddened to learn of the passing of our former player Gareth Williams.
Gareth, a midfielder, made over 100 appearances in all competitions scoring 12 goals for Wanderers during four seasons at Burnden Park after joining the club from Cardiff City in 1967.
He then joined neighbours Bury in 1971 before retiring from the game.
The thoughts of everybody connected with Bolton Wanderers are with his family, friends and former colleagues during this sad time.
