Goalkeeper Remi Matthews surprised Astley & Tyldesley Jaguars Under-10s girls’ team at their recent tour at the University of Bolton Stadium.
The ten youngsters were invited to have a private tour of the club’s home ground by the Whites’ media team, and upon their arrival, they made their way to the home changing room where Matthews was waiting.
The girls were then given the opportunity to get photos and autographs with the shot-stopper, ask him questions about his career and glean any advice that they could from the Trotters’ No.20.
And following their surprise meeting with the 24-year-old, the group were then given the full Bolton Wanderers experience by visiting the tunnel area, changing rooms, pitchside and media facilities.
Speaking following the visit, coach Colette Prince said: “We had an amazing experience at the stadium and of course, meeting Remi.
“Everybody would like to thank him for taking time to come down and meet the girls and also to the club for arranging this.
“It was an awesome evening and we really appreciate it.”
