Connell came on to replace William Smallbone on the 70th minute for the Republic of Ireland U19s, as they defeated their Romania counterparts 5-0 in the UEFA U19 European Championship qualifiers.

The midfielder will hope to be in action again soon, with The Boys in Green taking on Azerbaijan and Russia on Saturday and Tuesday respectively.

Looking to Magennis and the target man gained another cap for the Green and White Army as he replaced Kyle Lafferty on the 76th minute as Michael O'Neill's men beat Estonia 2-0 at Windsor Park.

Northern Ireland take on Belarus in another UEFA 2020 European Championship qualifier on Sunday.
