Report: Barnsley U18s 2-1 Bolton Wanderers U18s

Wanderers U18s were defeated 2-1 on their travels against their Barnsley counterparts, with Callum King-Harmes on the scoresheet for Nicky Spooner's men.

Wanderers started the game bright, with Kwame Osigwe getting in behind the Barnsley defesive line after two minutes but unable to find the target.

The away side continued to push forward for the opening goal, creating chances but lacking quality in the final third.

Then, against the run of play, the Tykes were awarded a penalty.

But, Luke Hutchinson was more than up to the task and made a great save to keep the game all square.

Before the half-time whistle, Barnsley were given another spot kick and this time, they made no mistake and put themselves into the lead.

The second half began at a more even keel, as both teams began to work each other out.

Both sides created chances and on 60 minutes, Barnsley broke away on the counter and furthered their lead.

Ten minutes on, King-Harmes reduced the deficit straight from a corner, but it wasn't enough as the Tykes held out for the win.
