Wanderers rename Chairman’s Suite after Eddie Davies

On the second anniversary of his passing, Bolton Wanderers Football Club has today announced that the Chairman’s Suite at the University of Bolton Stadium will be named after our former owner, Eddie Davies CBE.

The ‘Eddie Davies Chairman’s Suite’ will be a perpetual tribute to Eddie, who joined the Board of Bolton Wanderers in 1999 before becoming the Club's majority shareholder and owner in 2003.

He presided over arguably the Club’s most successful period in the modern era, including the European adventures.

Commenting on the dedication of the Suite, Bolton Wanderers Director Michael James said: “Eddie was not only a tremendous benefactor of Bolton Wanderers for over 15 years, he was also a philanthropist whose generosity benefited a number of institutions throughout the country including Bolton Hospital, Manchester University and the prestigious Kew Gardens in London.

''Having known Eddie throughout his tenure as owner of the Club I was aware of how much Bolton Wanderers meant to him. Even after his ownership came to an end in 2016, he continued to support the Club until his sad passing two years ago.”

Bolton Wanderers Chairman, Sharon Brittan added: “The Eddie Davies Chairman’s Suite is a fitting tribute and we want to ensure Eddie’s legacy is remembered by Bolton Wanderers supporters for many years to come.

“On this day, the collective thoughts of the entire Bolton Wanderers family go out to Sue and all of Eddie’s family.”
