Wanderers Partner With SKOOT To Help Navigate A More Sustainable Football Future

11 March 2021

Bolton Wanderers Football Club is delighted to have launched an exciting new partnership with the pioneering, carbon-negative mobility app SKOOT which will connect and reunite Wanderers fans and help the club navigate to a more sustainable future.

The first and only app of its kind and proudly carbon-negative, SKOOT becomes the club’s Official Lift Partner for Fans and will connect Wanderers fans who want to travel to matches together once supporters are permitted to return to stadiums, alongside helping fellow supporters and those in the local community who are in need of important errands.

Seamlessly aligning with the club’s ethos of “One Club One Community One Town”, SKOOT will also work with the club’s official charity Bolton Wanderers Community Trust to help those in the local community who are experiencing isolation and are in need of important errands.

Wanderers are the latest football club SKOOT have chosen to work with and share the same goals as the club with their drive to enable people to travel together or help one another in a safe, cheap, carbon-negative manner all at the touch of a button.

Through the app, fans are able to organise, request and arrange errands or lifts with their fellow Wanderers supporters – and SKOOT will plant a tree every three rides, and will offset the club’s the carbon footprint left by the team’s travel to away games in 2022.

SKOOT will also plant an additional tree on behalf of every Bolton Wanderers Season Ticket holder from the current campaign to try and give the club and fans a lift.

Mark Stringer, co-founder of SKOOT, said: “The journey we’re starting with Wanderers is incredibly exciting to give the Club, the fans, and importantly the environment a lift. Football brings communities together and SKOOT hopefully provides Wanderers fans with a simple way to help each other, during an incredibly difficult time.”

Sharon Brittan, chairman of Bolton Wanderers, said: “SKOOT’s focus on helping out our community and encouraging supporters to look out for one another makes them a welcome addition to the Bolton Wanderers Family.

“We are looking forward to helping them on their journey to provide a sustainable future for us all and I encourage Bolton Wanderers supporters to download the app.”
