Wanderers have had a reasonably solid pre-season programme – drawing four, winning two and losing only one. They began with 1-1 and 2-2 draws at Bamber Bridge and Radcliffe Borough respectively, before beating Chorley 1-0.
The Trotters followed up on their first win of pre-season with a 1-1 draw against Barrow of the Conference National and 10-0 demolition of Daisy Hill three days later.
Their only defeat of the programme came against Neil Aspin’s FC Halifax Town at The Shay, with Henry’s side going down 1-0. The latest pre-season campaign for the reserves came to a close with a 2-2 draw against League Two outfit Accrington Stanley.
The new Barclays Under-21 Premier League replaces the Reserve League South/North for 2012/13, with a new nationwide structure designed to raise the standard of competition at youth level and encourage and ensure the progression of young players.
