Bolton handed home tie against fellow Lancashire side in FA Cup third round
Bolton Wanderers will face Blackpool in the third round of the FA Cup with Budweiser.
The tie will take place at the Reebok Stadium on the weekend commencing 4 January, 2014.
The draw was made at Wembley Stadium on Sunday afternoon by Teddy Sheringham and his son Charlie.
Bolton, ball number 8 in the draw, famously contested the FA Cup final with Blackpool in 1953 in a game that was eventually dubbed as ‘The Matthews Final’.
Bill Ridding’s Bolton side were eventually defeated 4-3 in front of over 100,000 spectators at Wembley that day but would go on to lift the famous trophy five years later.
Ticketing and full match details for the tie will be announced in due course.
The Trotters have already made the visit to Paul Ince’s Blackpool this season, with the two sides contesting a 0-0 draw at Bloomfield Road in October. The return league fixture at the Reebok is set to take place in late March of next year.
