Manager Dougie Freedman previews tonight’s encounter against Peterborough United at the Reebok Stadium.
The Whites face Darren Ferguson’s Posh knowing maximum points would see the Bolton rise into the top half.
Previewing tonight’s game, which kicks off at 8pm, Freedman believes a home game is exactly what Bolton need following the 4-1 victory over Hull City four days ago.
The boss said: “I knew a result like the last one would come and I said that for the last four or five games and it has been coming.
“It is quite easy for me to sit here and say that because I see the players week in week out, day in day out so I understand where they are fitness wise and where there spirits are.
“It is something that has been coming and I felt the performance this time got the result it deserved and the last five games we have been scratching our heads because we have been playing so well and putting everything in.
“The supporters have been wonderful but we couldn’t get the result against the likes of Watford, Crystal Palace and at home to Everton.
“This has been coming, I am a big believer if you put the work in you get the rewards and that is what we certainly did on Saturday.
“A home game tonight is what we need. Peterborough are a very good side and if they didn’t lose their first seven games they would be a middle of the road team now and Darren Ferguson has done a very good job.
“Darren has been there a long time and he knows exactly what they need to do and when you are playing against a team like that who work as a unit and everyone knows their role, it is a difficult team to face.
“We have to be defensively solid and make sure we give nothing away and in attack play with freedom and express ourselves.
“The fans have to do what they have been doing and the players have to perform the way they have been performing to get the result.
