After tireless work from staff and volunteers, everything is in place ahead of today's game against Everton
Ahead of today’s fourth round FA Cup tie against Everton, Wanderers have mounted a successful clean-up operation following heavy snowfall overnight.
The club’s groundstaff, led by Head Groundsman Richard Norton, worked tirelessly from early Friday evening and throughout the night to combat the snow. Tractors and snow ploughs have been used to clear all car parks and pathways in and around the stadium, with the pitch also clear after initially being covered by six inches of snow.
Facilities and Operations Director Jan Kozlowski said: “We were very well prepared and everything went to plan. We had snow ploughs and tractors on site and we had rostered staff to work through the night in what were very difficult conditions.
“I would like to thank all of the staff and volunteers from the club and the fans who came along this morning for all their huge efforts. It was a big job and a lot of work has gone into it, but it has gone very well.”
Season ticket holders Gary Furness, David Bailey and Nathan Brookes were among a number of supporters who helped at the Reebok.
“I heard the announcement on the radio and I came down to lend a hand,” Gary said. “To walk out on the Reebok, even though it was covered in snow, was absolutely magic. It was the first time on the pitch for me.”
Wanderers are advising fans travelling to the game today to allow plenty of time for their journeys. Tickets for the match are still available to home supporters at Bolton Central. All away tickets have been sold.
