Striker speaks ahead of this weekend's clash with the Lions
Jermaine Beckford has every confidence that Wanderers can continue their current unbeaten run against Millwall on Saturday, but stressed the importance of not underestimating their opponents.
Having scored late on in the Whites’ 2-0 victory over Bournemouth last weekend, the striker admitted that there is something of a feel good factor within the squad at present.
“It’s always good to score a goal and of course win a game,” said the 29-year-old. “We were all really pleased with the result down at Bournemouth, so long may it continue.
“We take every game as it comes and treat every match as if it is a cup final – we know what we have to do.
“It’s not been the most ideal start to the season, but we’re six games unbeaten now and we’re determined to keep that going.”
With Wanderers currently on a run of four draws on home soil, Beckford believes that the performances produced in recent weeks have warranted more than a solitary point.
“With any luck, the victory will come – we’ve been playing some good football and we’ve been unfortunate to not come away from the Reebok with three points, but it’s just a matter of time.
“Once we get the first one, I’m confident that we’ll continue and get a few more."
He added: “It’s going to be a difficult game though - Millwall have always been a tough side to play against because they’re hardworking and physical, but I think we’ve got more than enough quality to match them and take it to the next level as well.
“I don’t think we should fear any team with the players, staff and manager that we’ve got. We go into each game with confidence and hopefully that shows on the field.”
