Striker in line to play in upcoming World Cup qualifiers
Jermaine Beckford has been included in the Jamaica squad for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers.
The Reggae Boyz still have an outside chance of qualifying for the 2014 competition, but the two imminent games away at Panama (6 September) and at home against Costa Rica (10 September) are likely to prove decisive.
Jamaica currently sit bottom of the six-team CONCACAF qualification group, with the top three nations guaranteed a spot in Brazil. The fourth-placed nation will advance to a play-off against New Zealand, the winners of the Oceania qualifiers.
Beckford already has one World Cup qualifying goal to his name, netting against the United States in June of this year.
