Chung-Yong Lee and Adam Bogdan in action for their nations
Two Bolton Wanderers players were in action for their respective nations during Tuesday’s international games.
Chung-Yong Lee played the full 90 minutes for Korea Republic in their 2-1 friendly defeat against Croatia in Jeonju.
Korea Republic have already secured their place in next summer’s World Cup in Brazil.
One nation who still harbour hopes of World Cup qualification are Hungary. Bolton stopper Adam Bogdan played the full game for Sandor Egervari’s side in their 5-1 demolition of Estonia in Budapest on Tuesday evening.
As a result Hungary leapfrog Romania, who were defeated on their own patch by Turkey, into second place. The Netherlands guaranteed themselves top spot in the group with victory over Andorra, meaning Bogdan and co must now finish as one of the eight best runners-up in the nine UEFA qualifying groups to secure a place in the play-off stages.
Hungary’s two remaining group games are away against the Netherlands (11 October) and at home to Andorra (15 October).
