Korea Republic winger heads out to join up with his national side ahead of tournament in Australia
Following Sunday’s game at Huddersfield Lee Chung-Yong will now link up with the Korea Republic squad ahead of next month’s AFC Asia Cup tournament in Australia.
Lee was named in Korea Republic’s final 23-man squad by head coach Uli Stielike earlier this month.
And depending on how far the Taeguk Warriors progress in the competition, Lee could be missing for Bolton for the entire month of January.
Korea first face Saudi Arabia in a warm up game in Sydney on January 4 before kicking off the group stage of the competition against Oman six days later in Canberra.
Korea Republic’s fixtures
4 January v Saudi Arabia (Friendly)
10 January v Oman (Group stage)
13 January v Kuwait (Group stage)
17 January v Australia (Group stage)
Details of Lee and Korea Republic’s progress will follow on bwfc.co.uk.
