Bolton winger plays full game in Korea's game in Cuiaba
Lee Chung-Yong and Korea Republic opened their 2014 FIFA World Cup campaign with a 1-1 draw against Russia on Tuesday evening.
Lee played the full 90 minutes in Cuiaba, displaying a number of clever and tidy touches in what proved to be a tactical contest.
Korea took the lead on 68 minutes after substitute Lee Keun-Ho’s long range shot squirmed through the grasp of Russian goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev.
However another substitute, Alexander Kerzhakov, drew Russia level, converting from close range following a scramble in the Korea penalty area.
The result leaves Korea in joint second place in Group H after the opening round of games. Belgium top the group after coming from behind to beat Algeria 2-1.
Korea’s next game is against Algeria in Porto Alegre on Sunday evening.
