David Lee’s side return to league action with draw
Taking part in their first match for three weeks, Wanderers’ youngsters fought out a 1-1 against Blackburn Rovers on Saturday afternoon.
The Whites started well and led 1-0 at the break as the returning Jamie Thomas opened the scoring, curling the ball home from 18 yards.
However, Blackburn equalised shortly after the break through a freak goal, scoring direct from a corner.
Bolton continued to press as they searched for a winner but they were unable to make a breakthrough, leaving them still searching for their first victory since September.
Speaking after the final whistle, Wanderers head coach David Lee said: ““It was good to return to the field after an extended break and it was also good to see Jamie Thomas return from injury.
“I was pleased with how we started the game. The lads played with a great intensity.
“We took a deserved lead but the manner of their equaliser was disappointing. It is just one of those things; a fluke we could do nothing about.
“We created a number of chances and were also solid at the back, with the lads willing to make a number of blocks.
“I cannot fault the attitude of the players. They were fully committed throughout and were unfortunate not to take all three points.”
