Six Wanderers loanees in action during latest round of Football League fixtures
One Wanderers loanee was on the scoresheet as all six players plying their trade away from Macron Stadium featured for their respective clubs over the course of the weekend.
Blackburn Rovers came from behind to defeat Nottingham Forest at the City Ground, with Alex Baptiste netting an equaliser for Rovers as they inflicted a first home defeat of the season on the hosts.
Stuart Pearce’s side had gone in at the break a goal to the good courtesy of Matty Fryatt’s tap-in, before Baptiste scored the leveller just after the hour-mark, drilling home after goalkeeper Karl Darlow failed to gather Ben Marshall’s cross.
Two goals in the space of three minutes late on from Rudy Gestede and Jordan Rhodes sealed a 3-1 win for Blackburn, leaving them one point outside the play-off places.
Meanwhile, Keith Andrews made his first appearance since August as he came off the bench in Watford’s 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough.
In League Two, three on-loan Whites started at Brunton Park as Carlisle United triumphed 2-1 over Oxford United.
Hayden White and Joe Riley completed 90 minutes for either side, while Georg Iliev was substituted on the hour-mark for the Cumbrians, with his replacement, Derek Asamoah, scoring an 89th minute as they came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory.
Elsewhere Andy Kellett completed 90 minutes for Plymouth Argyle as they extended their unbeaten run to five matches with a 3-0 win over Cheltenham Town.
