Assistant boss stresses the important of ending the season with a positive run of results
Johan Mjallby hopes the final four games of Bolton’s Sky Bet Championship campaign can help lay the foundations for next season.
Bolton face Charlton and Birmingham at Macron Stadium, as well as trips to Brentford and Bournemouth prior to the season’s conclusions.
And assistant manager Mjallby says the final four games are a chance for the playing squad to show what they are capable of ahead of what he expect to be a busy summer.
“We of course want a strong finish, even more so with the way in which we’ve been conceding late goals,” Mjallby said.
“We want to give the fans something to shout about. It’s also a chance for the players to show they want to be here come next season.
“We’re aiming for a bit of a turnaround and the players have to show that they want to be part of that over pre-season and at the start of next season.
“We want to build a really strong Bolton Wanderers side next season. As soon as pre-season is underway we want to hit the ground running.”
“We’re a bit disappointed with the way things have gone since Christmas and the New Year. We haven’t really kicked on after a positive first few months.
“For the last eight to ten weeks we haven’t been particularly happy, particularly with the way we have been conceding late goals, but we shouldn’t forget that we have had a lot of injuries.”
