Kaiyne Woolery, Tyrell Palmer and Jamie Thomas on target in away win
Bolton Wanderers’ XI side claimed their first victory of their pre-season campaign on Monday evening, seeing off Northern Football League side Guisborough Town.
The XI side, led by the club’s player-development coach Andy Hughes ran out 3-1 winners on the night.
Kaiyne Woolery opened the scoring for Bolton before the hosts levelled soon after.
But in the end Bolton would have too much quality, with goals from Tyrell Palmer and a long-range strike from Jamie Thomas wrapping up an ultimately comfortable victory.
“It was a very good workout,” Hughes told bwfc.co.uk after the game. “In the first half they made it difficult for us, but the players took on board what we asked of them and all in all it was a very pleasing evening.
“We had the players in on the morning of the game and they did exactly as we asked and rose to a few challenges that we had set them.
“We made nine change in second half and it was good to see all of the lads comes through unscathed.
“The mood is good right now and lads are excited about training and playing game. A lot of them didn’t want to come off tonight, but that’s the way it is.”
The Bolton Wanderers XI side are next in action against Spennymoor Town on Wednesday evening.
