Defender watches on as USA are defeated by Jamaica in Atlanta
Tim Ream and the USA’s defence of their CONCACAF Gold Cup crown is over after a semi-final defeat against Jamaica on Wednesday evening.
The Bolton defender was an unused sub for the game in Atlanta, with the Stars and Stripes now forced to settle for a third-placed play-off with fellow beaten semi-finalists Panama.
Jurgen Klinsmann’s side were playing catch up after falling behind to first half goals from Darren Mattocks and Giles Barnes.
Michael Bradley halved the deficit just after the interval, but in the end there was to be no equaliser.
Ream, who has made one appearance in the competition so far, could now potentially feature against Panama in Philadelphia on Saturday. Mexico and Jamaica will contest the final on Sunday.
