A look ahead to the youngsters' latest league clash with Rovers this Thursday
Wanderers’ Under-21s make the short trip to face Blackburn Rovers on Thursday afternoon in their penultimate fixture of the 2014/15 campaign.
Set to come up against a team who they recorded their last league victory against back in January, the Whites enter the clash off the back of a 3-0 reverse against Middlesbrough last time out.
Rovers themselves also tasted defeat at the hands of North East opponents in their latest outing on Tuesday evening, with the Magpies running out 4-2 victors at St James’ Park.
The last time these two sides met in early January, Conor Wilkinson was the star of the show as his two goals, coupled with a strike for Chris Lester, ensured that the Trotters secured a handsome win on home soil.
Now sitting just a point behind their Ewood Park counterparts in the Barclays U21 Premier League Division 2 table, Wanderers will no doubt be eager to end their campaign on a high by picking up the bragging rights in this local derby clash.
Kick-off is at 2pm, with the fixture to be held at Rovers’ Academy which can be found at Brockhall Village, BB6 8BA.
Supporters are able to watch the game free of charge but for those unable to make the match, there will be updates via the club’s Twitter account @OfficialBWFC, with a full match report available at www.bwfc.co.uk following the game.
