Alex Samizadeh nets brace in emphatic Wanderers victory over Blades at Lostock
Bolton Wanderers Under-18s clinched their sixth victory from their last seven outings with a resounding win over Sheffield United at Lostock on Saturday.
Continuing his impressive start to the season, Alex Samizadeh was once again on the scoresheet as he fired the Whites into the lead just before half-time following a neat turn in the area.
The forward netted his second of the game shortly after the restart, coolly slotting home after running onto Jack Everest's accurate through-ball.
Callum Spooner extended Bolton's lead further after venturing forward and cutting in from the right, finding the bottom corner with a low left-footed drive from the edge of the box.
Everest then completed the scoring for the Trotters following a great team move involving a number of Wanderers players, finishing at the far post following a succession of passes that tore through the visitors' defence.
After the game, Under-18s coach David Lee told bwfc.co.uk; "After a physical encounter last weekend, it was another against Sheffield United but we more than matched the opposition.
"We withstood anything they had to offer and after winning the physical approach, we played some excellent football.
"Crisp and sharp passing saw us create several chances and they were converted by our in-form strikers.
"We withstood a spell of pressure early in the second half before taking control.
"Overall, it was a very pleasing performance, with a mixture of flair, resilience and good finishing."
