U18s: QPR 1-2 Bolton

Alex Samizadeh fires brace as youngsters record victory in their latest U18 Professional Development League 2 outing

Alex Samizadeh took his tally for the season to eight goals from five Under-18s matches as he fired a brace in Bolton Wanderers' 2-1 victory away at Queens Park Rangers on Saturday.

Having started brightly, the young forward fired the Whites ahead midway through the first half, rifling home from the edge of the area.

QPR fought back and equalised just before the break, however, Bolton continued to threaten following the restart and were unfortunate not to re-take the lead after hitting the post and seeing a penalty saved.

The Trotters finally found themselves back in front in the 70th minute as Samizadeh notched his second of the game with what would prove to be the winner, coolly slotting the ball past the goalkeeper after running onto Alex Perry's through-ball.

Pleased with the number of chances his side had created, Youth Coach David Lee shared his delight at the performance with bwfc.co.uk following the final whistle.

"The lads put in a well-disciplined performance and looked solid through the back four and midfield unit.

"We created a number of good opportunities throughout the first half, and continued this into the second half, creating no less than eight really good chances.

"Having also been denied by the post and had a penalty saved, the only negative is that we were not clinical enough in front of goal.

"Thankfully we got the win and Alex Samizadeh took both his goals well. It was also a great pass from Alex Perry for his second.

"Overall it was a well-deserved win complimented by both good individual performances and a strong team performance."
