Nigerian cult hero to return to Macron Stadium for May 14 legends match
Bolton Wanderers Community Trust and Bolton Wanderers Supporters’ Trust are delighted to announce that Jay Jay Okocha will return to Macron Stadium for next month’s special legends match.
The mercurial Nigerian scored 18 goals in 145 games for Bolton between 2002 and 2006.
“I am delighted to be coming back to Bolton to play in the legends game,” Okocha told bwfc.co.uk. “It will be great to see all those wonderful fans who made my time at Bolton so special.
“I know it has been tough for the club recently, but with such brilliant fans and the backing of the Supporters' Trust and the Community Trust I know the club will come back stronger.
"I am honoured to be able to help in any way I can. See you all on the 14th of May.”
Understandably, there has been a debate between hosts Tony Kelly and John McGinlay as to which side Okocha will represent. Full details will follow in due course.
Tickets for the game can be purchase via the club’s eTicketing site, over the phone on 0844 871 2932 or in person at Bolton Central.
