Bolton Wanderers sign Mark Beevers

Defender joins Whites on a free transfer

Bolton Wanderers have completed the signing of Mark Beevers on a free transfer.

A stalwart of the Millwall backline in recent seasons, the defender puts pen-to-paper on a two-year deal at Macron Stadium.

Born in Barnsley, the 26-year-old started his career with Sheffield Wednesday and was a member of the Owls side that won promotion to the Sky Bet Championship during the 2011/12 campaign, having suffered relegation to the third tier two seasons earlier.

Following loan spells with MK Dons and Millwall, the former England Under-19s international joined the Lions permanently in January 2013.

On the scoresheet in last season’s Sky Bet League One Play-Off Final, Beevers was unable to help the London outfit secure an immediate return to the second tier as they fell to a 3-1 defeat against Barnsley at Wembley.

He will now link up with Wanderers as they travel to Sweden for their pre-season training camp.
