Club legend to join coaching staff and assist interim manager Jimmy Phillips
Peter Reid has joined the backroom coaching staff in an advisory role at Bolton Wanderers for the remainder of the season.
Reid, who between 1974 and 1983 made a total of 261 appearances for the club as a player, will assist interim manager Jimmy Phillips and the first team coaching staff.
“Jimmy was a young player when I was here many years ago,” Reid told bwfc.co.uk. “I got a phone call and was asked to come in and lend a hand to the football staff.
“We all know it has been a difficult time for the football club, but hopefully between now and the end of the season we can get a couple of results.
“This is a club that I hold very close to my heart. It’s a great opportunity to come back to a great football club and work with some great people.”
Dean Holdsworth said: “We are delighted that Peter has agreed to come in and be part of the team for the rest of the season. Ken and I are very happy.
“Peter’s experience, standards, drive and personality will without doubt give the club a lift.”
