Katherine Byrne is raising funds for Variety, The Children’s Charity
Katherine Byrne, one of the club’s main stadium receptionists, is set to complete in the finals of Miss Lancashire whilst she is also raising valuable funds for Variety, The Children’s Charity.
She is in the running to become Miss Lancashire at the upcoming final which will take place on Sunday 16 October at The Playhouse Theatre in Preston.
More than just a beauty pageant or a modelling competition, the eventual winner will be an ambassador for the area and will actively use the title to promote Lancashire and raise the profile of many worthy causes throughout their year.
It is also a direct entry into the Miss England competition with Miss World also a possibility.
To show your support for Katherine, please text MISS LANCS30 to 63333. All texts cost 50p plus your standard network rate.
In line with the event meanwhile, she is also holding a charity evening on Friday 7 October from 7.30pm at Darwen’s ICI on Bridge Street.
There will be a quiz, raffle and auction on offer alongside a special performance from The Soul Convicts, a local jazz and soul band.
Coupled with auction prizes from Bolton Wanderers, Liverpool, Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Whites Hotel and many more organisations, the funds raised will go towards Variety, a charity dedicated to improving the lives of children and young people who need help.
They raise funds for specialist minibuses, wheelchairs, sports equipment, hospital wards, and many other practical solutions to support the lives of sick, disabled and disadvantaged children across the UK each day.
Tickets for the event cost £10 each with 50% going to Variety. For more information, please contact Katherine on kaybyrne9@gmail.com, 01254 760020 or by searching ‘Katherine Byrne Miss Lancashire Finalist 2016’ on Facebook.
