Luca Navarro scores twice from the spot as Wanderers' youngsters start 2017 with a draw against the Tykes
Wanderers' Under-18s kicked off the calendar year by coming from behind to draw with Barnsley on Saturday morning.
Nicky Spooner's youngsters started brightly and created chances early on, with Jack Earing making an opportunity for Shakeel Griffiths Jones who shot narrowly wide.
Griffiths Jones was in the thick of it once again soon after with a header coming agonisingly close to hitting the target, while Earing himself came close too.
The deadlock was broken however from the penalty spot after the aforementioned Earing had been fouled during a corner-kick, with Luca Navarro firing home the resulting effort from 12 yards.
Going in a goal ahead at the break, the second period brought more Barnsley pressure which ultimately resulted in them scoring three times to seemingly put the result beyond Bolton.
Not to be denied however, the Whites showed superb determination and after halving the deficit with three minutes remaining, once again from the spot through Navarro, they eventually drew level deep into stoppage time through Ryan White to earn a share of the spoils.
