BWCT receive £8,293 donation to help support 'Fitter Fans' project
Bolton Wanderers Community Trust are celebrating a funding boost following a £8,293 donation from the Morrisons Foundation.
The Morrisons Foundation, a charity set up by the supermarket, has awarded the grant to support the Bolton Wanderers Community Trust's 'Fitter Fans' project, which provides light physical activities for people aged over 55.
The 'Fitter Fans' project has now been running successfully for twelve months with over sixty participants benefiting so far. Activities include walking football, circuit training, invasion games and many more.
Jeff Martin, ‘Fitter Fans’ participant, said: “Fitter fans gets people active and involved with a variety of activities. It’s a really good project to be involved in as it allows us to meet new people and make new friends.”
David Scott, Trustee of the Morrisons Foundation, said: "We are delighted to have awarded this grant to Bolton Wanderers Community Trust. The Fitter Fans project is a great way for people aged over 55 to take part in enjoyable exercise, and I'm sure that this donation will help to ensure as many people as possible can benefit."
