U18s: Bolton Wanderers 2-0 Sheffield United

Wanderers' Under-18s extended their unbeaten run to three games with a comfortable victory over their Sheffield United counterparts at the weekend.

The game itself started with the home side being direct, getting the ball from back to front as quickly as possible.

The Whites however defended very well with Max Broughton and Ted Moulden dealing with the Blades' long balls.

When in possession themselves meanwhile, Nicky Spooner's side attacked with pace but just couldn't convert their opportunities.

With 35 minutes gone however, Brown picked up the ball and attacked the United defence before shooting from distance.

His shot hit the post, but Luca Navarro was the first to react and struck home the rebound the put Bolton ahead.

Having opened the scoring, Wanderers' confidence soared with them dominating possession inside the opening stages of the second half before doubling their tally on the hour mark as Barnes was played in and hit an unstoppable shot from 12 yards.

As the game wore on, both Darcy and Moore had further opportunities to increase the visitors' lead, but it was just the two-goal advantage for the Trotters come full time.
