A message to all Bolton Wanderers supporters who are travelling to Deepdale this coming Saturday for our Sky Bet Championship clash with the Lilywhites.
Bolton Wanderers supporters will, as usual, occupy the Bill Shankly Kop at Deepdale and turnstiles will open at 1.30pm.
Since last season there have been a number of closures and there are now very few public houses within walking distance of the stadium. The Bill Shankly Kop concourse will sell a range of alcoholic/non-alcoholic drinks and hot and cold food.
Alcohol sales, however, will be pre match only on police advice.
At last season’s fixture there was an unprecedented use of pyrotechnic devices by a minority of Bolton Wanderers supporters on the concourse. Multiple pyrotechnics were set off at the same time. This meant the concourse was thick with smoke.
What was unknown to those that used pyrotechnics is that many Bolton Wanderers supporters suffered from smoke inhalation and a supporter was injured from a thrown pyrotechnic.
Therefore this is an appeal from the ground safety team at Preston North End for Bolton Wanderers supporters to not to attempt to bring or use pyrotechnics at Deepdale this Saturday.
For your information, additional search stewards will be deployed together will the use of pyrotechnic detection dogs at the turnstiles. CCTV cameras have been upgraded and anyone using a pyrotechnic device will be identified.
This will lead to a lengthy ban. Police officer’s will assist with the detection of pyrotechnics throughout the day.
So please come to Preston North End on Saturday to have a great day out, but leave the pyros at home for the wellbeing and safety of all Bolton Wanderers supporters.
