Derik Osede makes personal donation to School of Military

Derik Osede paid a special visit to the School of Military, based in Wigan, on Tuesday morning to deliver a personal monetary donation to the organisation.

The Whites' No.17, who has been on the books of the club since the summer of 2015, was chosen by the school at the start of the current campaign to be their sponsored Bolton Wanderers player for the duration of 2017/18.

And to show his support for the organisation and thank them for their personal backing of him, the Spaniard made the short journey to their base on Lord Street in Wigan on Tuesday morning to hand over a substantial donation from his own pocket.

Speaking following the visit, Derik said, "I very much appreciate the School of Military sponsoring me for the current season and I just love helping people where I can.

"I was told exactly where the money will be going and it makes me very happy to know that I have been able to make a difference."

Mat Ward, Area Manager for Lancashire, echoed Derik's sentiments, adding, "As a result of Derik's generous donation, we'll be able to offer an entire school of 200 pupils our services for a day, free of charge.

"We're so incredibly grateful for the donation - it will make a huge difference to a lot of youngsters' lives and it was lovely to meet Derik himself with us having chosen to sponsor him this season.

"We look forward to continuing our relationship with both him and Bolton Wanderers from here on in."

These skills include SMSC, British values, bushcraft, teambuilding and health and wellbeing and they do all of this using their military values and standards.

The other side of the business is 1-2-1 mentoring, in and out of school, with a view to encouraging a positive change in attitudes and behaviours of young people both in and out of education, with the aim of allowing children of all ages to reach their full potential.
