Jon Flanagan joins Wanderers on loan

Bolton Wanderers are pleased to confirm the signing of Jon Flanagan on loan from Liverpool, subject to Premier League clearance.

The one-time England international moves to Macron Stadium on a temporary deal until the end of the season having spent last year on loan with Premier League Burnley.

A graduate of the Reds’ youth academy, the 25-year-old was a member of the Liverpool side that finished as Premier League runners-up in 2013/14, with his form that season seeing him named in England’s provisional squad for the 2014 World Cup.

Capable of playing at both right-back and left-back, he also helped Liverpool win the League Cup and reach the FA Cup Final in 2011/12.

Featuring 51 times for Liverpool, scoring one goal, since making his professional debut in April 2011, Flanagan could now be set to make his Trotters debut in front of the Sky cameras at Macron Stadium on Friday against Bristol City.
