Preview: Five talking points ahead of Bolton Wanderers v Girona

Wanderers continue their preparations for the 2018/19 Sky Bet Championship campaign with a clash against La Liga outfit Girona at the County Ground in Leyland on Saturday afternoon.

The Whites are currently unbeaten in pre-season having defeated Halifax and drawn with Morecambe so far and will be looking to continue that vein of form against our Spanish counterparts.

And ahead of that clash, bwfc.co.uk has highlighted five key talking points around the game...

1. First chance to see newcomers

Saturday will potentially give the club's supporters their first opportunity to see new signings Pawel Olkowski and Yanic Wildschut in action.

Olkowski linked up with the Trotters last week and featured in the latter stages of the club's behind-closed-doors friendly with Morecambe on Tuesday, but this weekend will hopefully see him introduce himself to the Bolton faithful in the flesh for the first time.

Wildschut meanwhile arrived at Macron Stadium on Thursday afternoon and could potentially feature having linked up with his new teammates on Friday morning.

2. Pay on the day

Fans will be able to pay on the day for the game, but are advised to arrive early due to the limited capacity at the County Ground.

Tickets remain on sale directly from Bolton Central however until the game and are priced at £10 for adults and £5 for Under-18s and Over-65s.

There is a limited amount of seating available and these will be available on a first come first served basis on the day.

There will also be a wide range of refreshments and catering outlets available.

Tickets can be purchased in person at Bolton Central or by calling 0844 871 2932 (supporters will need to select option 2, then option 1).

A Pay and Display car park is located near to the ground and there will be street parking in the vicinity. Please note there will be no car parking available at the ground.

3. "Home" fixture

Due to the club's recent Little Mix and The Killers concerts at Macron Stadium, coupled with the Rugby Challenge Cup semi-finals which are due to take place at BL6 in two weeks' time, our game against Girona is technically the Whites' home pre-season fixture this year.

Set to take place at the Lancashire FA's County Ground base in Leyland, it is simply a short drive down the motorway with the address as follows:

Lancashire FA,
The County Ground,
Thurston Road,
Leyland,
PR25 2LF

4. Youth and experience

Alongside ensuring that Wanderers' first team regulars have been getting much-needed game-time under their belts, manager Phil Parkinson has also been giving a handful of youngsters their opportunities to shine.

Players such as Luca Connell and Eddie Brown - key members of the Trotters' Under-18/23 set-up - have been thrown into the mix in recent games alongside a number of trialists, giving the gaffer - alongside Under-23 and Under-18 coaches David Lee and Nicky Spooner - some food for thought.

5. Matchday guide

Supporters are reminded that a special matchday guide will be on sale ahead of kick-off, priced at just £1.

Featuring key details about our opponents from Spain, it also offers up player biographies to ensure that you're up to speed about the Whites' latest challenge in pre-season.

Sellers will be located nearby to the turnstiles for the 3pm kick-off.
