Wanderers Bolster Defence With New Recruit

Will Aimson became manager Ian Evatt’s latest signing after agreeing a two-year deal at the University of Bolton Stadium, the club is delighted to announce.

The 27 year-old defender, who can also play in midfield, featured in 46 games for Plymouth Argyle last term and spent two seasons at Home Park after arriving on the South Coast from Bury.

He made 37 appearances, netting four goals, at Gigg Lane following a move from Blackpool in 2018.

Born in Dorset, Aimson began his career with Eastleigh before being offered the opportunity of League football with Hull City in 2014.

Whilst in Humberside he had loan spells with Tamworth, Tranmere Rovers and Blackpool, joining the latter on a full-time basis in 2016.

Speaking to bwfc.co.uk, Aimson said: “I couldn’t be any happier that this is over the line. I’m buzzing to sign for a club like this with its stature in the game.

“You can go through your career and you might not get chance to sign for a club like Bolton Wanderers, so I had to take up the opportunity when it came.

“The manager, style of football and the fan base all played a big role in me coming here and I cannot wait to get going.”

Wanderers Manager Ian Evatt added: “Will is a quick and mobile centre back who is good in possession and suits the way we play. He has promotions on his CV and will provide competition to the squad.

“I’m delighted that his has joined us.”
