Ian Evatt believes it’s only a matter of time before Bolton Wanderers start to score the goals their performances are meriting.
Wanderers picked up a comfortable victory against second-placed Cambridge United at the University of Bolton Stadium in midweek with Eoin Doyle and Antoni Sarcevic both getting their names on the scoresheet.
Although the visitors pulled a goal back against the run of play, Wanderers were unfortunate not to add to their tally during a game they completely controlled.
The Wanderers boss, who was named Sky Bet Manager of the Month for February, said: “I think it’s coming, I genuinely do think it’s coming.
“I thought the quality of our final third play was excellent.
“It was just our final finish really, that was the only thing that was lacking. But the way we’re getting there and the way we’re creating chances is really good stuff.
“It’s a quality and a standard of football you don’t see at this level very often and I’m proud of the players for doing that.
“But for an awkward bounce of the ball just on half-time I think Eoin would have had two and we’d have been 3-0 up and it would have been game over and a lot more comfortable.
“It’s good to have your top scorer on the goalscoring charts, of course it is, but more importantly the amount of chances we’re creating.
“The amount we’re doing and the good work we’re doing tee to green and then the good work in the final third, it’s just that final finish that we’ll continue to work on.”
