Wanderers Go To Non-League Neighbours

Wanderers will make their traditional trip to neighbours Atherton Collieries as part of their pre-season preparations.

And the Whites will also send a side to the Colls’ Northern Premier League top-flight rivals Bamber Bridge during their warm-up campaign.

A Wanderers’ team will face Atherton at their Skuna Stadium ground on Wednesday, 13 July (KO 7.45pm).

Wanderers won last summer’s friendly between the two sides 4-0 thanks to goals from George Thomason, Ronan Darcy and a Nathan Delfouneso double.

Wanderers will also return to the Sir Tom Finney Stadium for another meeting with Bamber Bridge.

Last season’s planned fixture was called off due to Covid-19 issues but the Whites will take a team to face Brig – who missed out on the NPL Premier Division play-offs by a place in 2021/22 – on Tuesday, 19 July (KO 7.30pm).
