Wanderers Shortlisted For Two EFL Awards

Wanderers have been shortlisted for two awards at the upcoming EFL Awards, taking place on Sunday 23rd April at the Grosvenor House Hotel in London.

The club is in the running for the Fan Engagement Award, alongside Lincoln City and Reading, for our partnership with the Bolton Wanderers Supporters’ Trust and the collaborative work that has been delivered over the course of the 2022/23 season.

The formalising of the relationship between the club and the official voice of Wanderers’ fans has been recognised for its ongoing positive results and its influence across club strategy and ideas, campaigns and capital projects including the ‘Pick Our Kits 2023/24’ initiative, the price reduction in season tickets, the development of the Fan Zone, the digital Supporter Survey and the improvement in disabled facilities across the stadium.

In addition, the Bolton Unity Festival – an annual cultural event hosted at the University of Bolton Stadium – has been shortlisted for the Diversity Award in a category alongside Middlesbrough and Watford.

The Bolton Unity Festival is delivered by the Bolton Unity Project, an alliance made up of Bolton Wanderers in the Community, Bolton Christian Community Cohesion, Bolton Solidarity Community Association, Bolton Council of Mosques, Bolton Hindu Forum and Bolton Interfaith Council to bring together different faiths and cultural groups to celebrate unity and diversity across Bolton.

Neil Hart, Chief Executive Officer at Bolton Wanderers said: “We’re delighted to have been nominated in two important off-the-pitch categories at this year’s EFL Awards, which once again demonstrates the progress the club is making.

“We place great value on our relationship with our supporters, and open and honest communication with the club’s fanbase is at the very top of our agenda so to see this recognised is something we are very proud of.

“In addition, the fantastic Unity Festival is an event we are honoured to host here at Bolton Wanderers. For the initiative to be held up as a beacon of inclusivity is well deserved and I extend our congratulations to Bolton Wanderers in the Community who play such an integral role in making it happen every year.

“We look forward to the ceremony later this month.”
