Arfield warm-up Arsenal

Scott Arfield has returned to first club Falkirk to bring an end to his spell with Wanderers.

The midfielder has agreed a permanent transfer to the Scottish Championship club where he started his career.

Arfield played over 100 games in the Scottish Premiership for Falkirk – before successful spells with Huddersfield Town, Burnley and Rangers – and rejoins the Bairns to aid their push for promotion back to the top-flight.

The 36-year-old signed for Wanderers last summer from MLS side Charlotte FC and made 16 appearances for the Whites.

Everyone at Wanderers thanks Scott for his contribution on and off the pitch during his time at the Toughsheet Community Stadium and wishes him well in his continued career in Scotland.

The departure of Arfield follows a permanent move to Leyton Orient for Randell Williams, the sale of Dion Charles to Huddersfield Town and the arrival of three new signings for Wanderers during the winter transfer window which closed at 11pm tonight (Monday).

The Whites landed long-time target Joel Randall from Peterborough United and also secured the services on loan of Newcastle United defender Alex Murphy and Cardiff City striker Kion Etete for the remainder of the season under recently appointed Head Coach Steven Schumacher.
