Ahead of tomorrow night's derby fixture against Wigan Athletic, Bolton Wanderers would like to provide the following information for the 4,000+ that will pack out the away end on Tuesday evening.
Steven Schumacher's men make the short trip to the Brick Community Stadium looking to return to winning ways and record a victory that will potentially push them into the Play-Off positions come full-time.
With this in mind, and a huge travelling support making their way to Wigan tomorrow, we would like to provide the following information:
Love Football. Protect The Game.
With another sold-out away end on the road on Tuesday, Bolton Wanderers would like to remind all travelling supporters of fan behaviour in and around matchday at Wigan.
We remind fans that entering the pitch without permission, carrying or using smoke bombs or pyrotechnics, drug use and all forms of discriminatory behaviour, including abuse in which homophobic, racist or religious language is used, are all behaviours not tolerated at any Bolton Wanderers' fixture.
All of these acts are dangerous, illegal and have severe consequences. They have no place in football, or anywhere. As a football club, we will not tolerate these behaviours.
We know such behaviour is not representative of the majority of Wanderers' fans, who will show their support on Saturday in a manner that makes the fixture an enjoyable and safe environment for all.
Potential Holdback Of Away Fans
Wanderers can provide the following update from Greater Manchester Police:
Greater Manchester Police would like to inform supporters attending the Wigan Athletic v Bolton Wanderers fixture on 1st April 2025 that consideration will be given on the day for holding away supporters back in the stadium at the end of the fixture for their safety, this would likely only be for a short period of time.
This is not confirmed at this time and would only be implemented to prevent the serious disorder that has been seen at this fixture previously. We ask that supporters factor this possibility in to their match day travel planning following the fixture.
Post-Game Travel Information
Following the game, the below trains are running back to Bolton on the Tuesday evening:
22:07 - Wigan Wallgate to Bolton
23:15 - Wigan Wallgate to Bolton (bus replacement)
We advise supporters to make appropriate arrangements ahead of leaving pre-game.
Roadworks
We would like to update fans on roadworks in and around Wigan with a huge number of Wanderers' fans making the trip.
- Scholes / School Lane / Warrington Lane Junction, Wigan - Transport for Greater Manchester and Wigan Highways will be undertaking works to install controlled crossing facilities. Works will be undertaken with temporary multi-way signals in place, replacing the existing fixed signals.
- Wigan Road, Standish - Cadent Gas will be undertaking gas mains replacement works with the use of temporary 2-Way Signals. This involves replacing the existing Steel Gas Main with New PE Plastic mains for health and safety reasons. The scheme will be replacing 3000 meters of Gas Main alongside 224 associated connections and services. Works start on 03rd February 2025 and are due to conclude in May 2025. Temporary signals will only be in place until the end of March 2025 with the rest of the works being undertaken without traffic management
Bolton Wanderers would like to thank the travelling supporters for what we no doubt will be a superb atmosphere generated in the away end, as we look to secure a vital victory.
