David Harrington training

Goalkeeper David Harrington kept a clean sheet as he benefited from a training-ground run-out in the B Team.

The January signing - who has featured on the bench so far in League One for the Whites since arriving from Fleetwood Town - looked assured whenever needed as Andy Taylor's side eased to a win in the bounce game at Lostock against a young Salford side.

In front of Harrington, defender Lewis Temple gave another commanding display as he continues to grow into his Wanderers’ stay, while first-team men Richard Taylor and Ibby Cissoko were also given some game-time.

The only goal came from youth-teamer Lucas Kirkpatrick, who collected a pass from Cissoko to drill the ball home with a tidy side-foot finish after a quarter of an hour.

Wanderers: Harrington, O’Neill, Temple, Taylor (Grayson), Mawditt, Irwin, Kirkpatrick (Sixsmith), Ritchie, Lawrence, Cissoko (Nuttall), Lewis (Thomas).

Also on the Academy front, the Youth Team know they will face Blackpool in the final of the Lancashire FA Professional Youth Cup.

The Seasiders beat Preston 4-1 in their semi-final to set up a repeat of last season's final when Wanderers won 2-0 to lift the trophy.

Details for the final at the LFA County Ground at Leyland will follow in due course.
