B Team Preview: Longridge Town v Wanderers

Longridge Town

The B Team continues its build-up to the new campaign with a visit to Longridge Town tonight.

Matt Craddock’s men kicked off their pre-season programme with an encouraging 1-1 draw at Lancaster City last Wednesday night.

And they now face a trip to the Recycling Lives Ground to face the North-West Counties League Premier Division side managed by former Preston, Wigan and West Bromwich Albion striker Lee Ashcroft.

The game at Longridge is followed by a trip to Atherton Collieries on Saturday before three training-ground games against Premier League and EFL Championship opposition.

“We’ve got a good run of fixtures coming up and we’re looking forward to the one at Longridge first as our next test,” said B Team Head Coach Craddock, who has seen several of his squad also feature in the opening run of first-team friendlies.

“It was a decent start at Lancaster and we’ll be looking to build on that in the games we’ve got coming up and seeing some of the things we’re working on come to fruition.”

Longridge have already played half-a-dozen warm-up games, losing their latest to Hyde United last Saturday, as they head towards their league opener on Saturday, 29 July.

Kick-off for Tuesday evening’s game has been put back to 7.30pm.

Admission is £5 adults, £3 concessions, £1 12-18 years and under-11s free.
