B Team Preview | Wanderers v Barrow

Barrow B Team preview

The B Team gets its chance to stay in the hunt for silverware when they face Barrow in the semi-finals of the Lancashire FA Senior Cup.

The Whites’ youths became county champions last week and now it’s the turn of the B Team to try and knock out the holders and reach the final of the senior competition.

The winners of Tuesday’s semi-final at Lostock (KO 1pm) will face Burnley in the final at the County Ground in Leyland on a date to be confirmed.

Barrow’s defence of their crown saw them beat Preston in the quarter-finals, while Wanderers overcame Blackburn Rovers in the last eight to keep alive their hopes of winning the cup for the first time since beating Preston at Burnden Park in the final in 1991.

B Team boss Andy Taylor – whose side has lost just one of their last six competitive games – said: “It would be nice to get to the final and be in with a chance of winning something. You don’t always get to a lot of finals in your career so it would be good for the young players.

“We’ve had to change the team a lot in recent games, but we’ve been on a good run and hopefully we can keep that going. Barrow often field strong sides in this and beat us last year, so we know we’ll have to play well to win it.”

Supporters are welcome to attend the game at Wanderers’ training ground. However, spectators are advised that no parking is available and are asked to arrive no more than 15 minutes before kick-off.
