Bolton Wanderers in the Community (BWitC), the official Football Club Charity of Bolton Wanderers Football Club, has today published its 2024/25 Impact Report, showcasing the charity’s continued dedication to supporting our community here in Bolton.

The conclusion of the charity’s three year strategy, the report highlights the impact of their staff and the stories of our local community. Looking at the impact of the wider group: BWitC as BWFC’s Football Club Charity and Wanderers Sport in the Community (WSitC) as their CiC, the report shows how as a collective the group strives toward providing opportunities to connect people and enable our community to thrive and succeed.  

Across the season as a collective, both BWFC and BWitC have generated £4,372,766.24 in social value across four key areas; Physical health £316,745.35, Mental health £3,537,610.97, Community and Social £83,158.13 and Education and Employability £435,251.81 

Highlights from the season include: 

  • A total of 1,455 free lunches over the summer period to 221 individuals as part of our Bolton Lunches partnership with Urban Outreach.
  • Over 1,000 children engaged in anti-discrimination workshops throughout the year.
  • Feedback from our Premier League Inspires programmes shows a 72.5% improvement in participants’ mental well-being.
  • 90% of men we interact with reported their anxiety has decreased through Team Talk
  • 95% of Extra Time Hub attendees report an improvement in their social wellbeing. 
     

On the release of the 2024/25 Impact Report Ben Lawton, Chief Executive Officer of Bolton Wanderers in the Community, said: “As we close up our three-year strategy, the release of our 2024/25 Impact Report is an opportunity to reflect and celebrate how we have developed as a group and an opportunity to thank our partners, funders, coaches, volunteers, and most importantly, the communities we serve.
