Bolton Wanderers Hold Annual Service of Remembrance

Bolton Wanderers remembered those part of the wider Wanderers family that have passed away at the club's Annual Service of Remembrance.

Taking place in the month of May on a yearly basis, supporters joined club officials at the Toughsheet Community Stadium to pay tribute to those we have lost in a moving service.

The service began pitchside where Club Chairman Sharon Brittan and Wanderers' legend John McGinlay laid a wreath on the pitch to start the ceremony, before a service of remembrance and thanksgiving was conducted by Club Chaplain, Phil Mason.

The service continued in the 1877 Suite, where names of loved ones that have been added to the Book of Remembrance and Memorial Stones - as well as those we lost over the past twelve months - were then read out.

Loved ones that have been lost in previous years were also displayed on screens in the room as Phil Mason led a poignant and emotional service on the evening, before attendees were then invited to come forward and light candles in memory of their loved ones.

Always a moving and touching event, Bolton Wanderers would like to thank all those who attended on Monday evening, and our thoughts are with the family and friends of all those we remembered. RIP.
