Wanderers’ play-off semi-final win at Bradford City has earned boss Steven Schumacher and his team the LMA’s Everest Men’s Performance of the Week award.
The award from the League Manager’s Association covers games across the Premier League and EFL.
And Wanderers’ 1-0 victory in the second leg of their semi-final at Valley Parade earned Schumacher, his staff and squad the prize from a panel comprising of LMA Chairman Martin O’Neill OBE, Jess Creighton, Les Ferdinand MBE, Sir Alex Ferguson CBE, Barry Fry, Chris Hughton, Mick McCarthy, Stuart Pearce MBE, Clare Tomlinson, Carla Ward and Rachel Yankey OBE.
The victory at Bradford – sealed by substitute Xavier Simons’ late goal – completed a 2-0 aggregate success for the Whites to set up Sunday’s League One play-off final against Stockport County.
Wanderers’ head coach Schumacher said: “We are delighted to have won this award and thanks to those responsible for choosing our performance at Bradford as the top performance of the week.
“It was a terrific effort from the team and a fantastic result, which has given us the chance to go to Wembley and try and get the one more win we need to secure promotion.”
