Bolton Wanderers is delighted to announce that Chris Forino has been crowned PFA League One Community Champion 2024/25 at the North West Football Awards.

Over the 2024-25 season Chris supported Bolton Wanderers in the Community through promotion and attendance at events and projects. Last Christmas he helped spread some festive joy alongside BWFC Men’s First Team when visiting Bolton Hospice. Players engaged with patients and supplied vital supplies and gifts to bring festive cheer across our town.

Chris also joined BWitC staff at a local school to support the charity in celebrating a long serving member of the team. Rob Messina, a member of the BWitC education team who has dedicated over 10 years to the charity, was awarded the Premier League Community Captain Award with Chris  presenting the award in front of the school. Chris then took the time to answer questions about his football career and signing shirts for the students.

Chris not only stepped up as BWitC’s Charity Ambassador for the 2024/25 season but has also come back on board for the 2025/26 season continuing to show his dedication to supporting our town.

As a club and charity we believe in the ethos of One Club. One Community. One Town. We are incredibly proud of Chris for this fantastic achievement and for his dedication to representing Wanderers and the local area off the pitch.

After winning the award, Chris said: “This is a real honour to win this award and I’d like to thank the awards’ panel and all those that voted.

“It’s so important for us, as footballers and Wanderers’ players, to give back where we can by helping and supporting community projects which benefit people in and around Bolton – many of whom support us as players and a team.

“We know what a difference the work done by Bolton Wanderers in the Community makes to so many lives in our community and I’m glad to have played a small part in helping some of those projects to have maximum impact and benefit those that need it most.

“To echo the message of the club and BWitC, we are ‘One Club, One Community, One Town.’”
