Our player has the full backing of this football club. No player should leave the field and face racist abuse on a phone screen.
We have reported the incident to the relevant authorities and to the social media platform involved. Those responsible must face consequences. Social media companies hold the data required to identify the accounts behind this abuse and authorities possess the powers required to act. Stronger action is overdue.
