Aaron Collins has won the Sky Bet League One Goal of the Month Award for April thanks to his stunner against Reading.
Collins’ strike – which was also voted Wanderers’ goal of the season – topped a supporter poll and gained the nod from Sky Sports judges David Prutton and Don Goodman.
The goal, rifled into the top corner following a neat turn 25 yards from goal, kicked off a memorable hat-trick and a burst of seven goals in eight games from Collins to help the Whites reach the League One play-off final.
“I’m delighted to have won the award and thanks to the judging panel and everyone who voted,” said the Wanderers’ frontman, who had also been short-listed for the March award.
“It was a special goal for me as it came in an important win and also set me on my way to my first hat-trick for the club.
“That meant a lot and also started a good month for me and the team as we secured third place in the league going into the play-offs.
“With Saturday’s final to look forward to, I’d love to score at Wembley and contribute to one more win to cap a fantastic first few months at Bolton.”
Winter transfer window-signing Collins becomes the third Wanderers’ player to win the award this year after Zac Ashworth took the January prize and Paris Maghoma was chosen as the February winner.
