Date Set For Youth Cup Tie

Leicester youth cup date

Wanderers will play Leicester City in the third round of the FA Youth Cup at the Toughsheet Community Stadium on Wednesday, 3rd December (KO 7pm).

The Whites booked their place in round three for the first time in six years as they followed up a first-round win over Chester FC with a 2-0 success at Tranmere Rovers.

Leicester, meanwhile, join the competition at the third-round stage as a Championship club, with their U18 side playing in the U18 Premier League. The Foxes, who operate as a Category A academy, are currently fifth in the league’s southern group.

Admission on the night to the third-round tie will be £5 adults, £3 concessions and £1 children, payable by card only at the turnstiles in block D of the Kia West Stand Lower.

Meanwhile, Julian Darby’s side kicks off their defence of the LFA Professional Youth Cup at Blackburn Rovers tomorrow (Tuesday) afternoon.

The young Whites knocked out Rovers, who play in the U18 Premier League, in the semi-finals last season en route to lifting the trophy with victory over Blackpool in the final. Kick-off at Rovers’ Brockhall Academy is at 2pm with the winners set to play Burnley in the last four of the competition.

The B Team is also in action on Tuesday when they face Notts County’s B Team in a behind-closed-doors Central League fixture at Lostock.

Midfielder Sonny Sharples-Ahmed will not be involved after securing a loan move to Torquay United to further his first-team experience. The 20-year-old, who will stay at Plainmoor initially until January, came off the bench to make a debut for the Gulls in their 7-0 National League South win over Eastbourne on Saturday to stay in the play-off places.

Up-dates and details of both games will be available via our official @BWFCBandAcademy ‘X’ account.
